È ciò che si è sentito dire lo psicoterapeuta di Vancouver Andrew Feldmar al suo ingresso negli Stati Uniti e lo racconta un lungo articolo, LSD as Therapy? Write about It, Get Barred from US, pubblicato dalla rivista canadese The Tyee. Ciò che è accaduto, se il resoconto è corretto, ha del paradossale: il professionista, un sessantaseienne dall’aria rispettabile e dai capelli brizzolati, si avvicina alla polizia di frontiera statunitense, consegna in passaporto e il controllo comprende anche una rapida ricerca su Internet.

Ricerca che dà, tra i suoi risultati, un pezzo scritto da Feldmar nella primavera del 2001 per Janus Head (Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature, Continental Philosophy, Phenomenological Psychology, and the Arts). Argomento: due episodi in cui quarant’anni fa lo psicoterapeuta assunse acidi sotto la supervisione dei suoi superiori per ragioni di ricerca. Per gli agenti, ciò si tramuta in un’ammissione spontanea di assunzione di droga. Dunque niente ingresso e che torni a casa non prima di aver donato le proprie impronte digitali all’FBI. Non senza un amaro senso dell’umorismo, Feldman ha commentato che tutto ciò è “curioso, davvero curioso”.

We all know that a good plot to blow up an airplane will cause the banning, or at least screening, of something innocuous. If you stop and think about it, it’s a stupid response. We screened for guns and bombs, so the terrorists used box cutters. We took away box cutters and small knives, so they hid explosives in their shoes. We started screening shoes, so they planned to use liquids. We now confiscate liquids (even though experts agree the plot was implausible)… and they’re going to do something else. We can’t win this game, so why are we playing?

Well, we are playing. And now you can, too. Your goal: invent a terrorist plot to hijack or blow up an airplane with a commonly carried item as a key component. The component should be so critical to the plot that the TSA will have no choice but to ban the item once the plot is uncovered. I want to see a plot horrific and ridiculous, but just plausible enough to take seriously.

Quello arrivato poco fa riguarda un argomento che ha generato diverse polemiche nelle ultime settimane: il portale del turismo italia.it. Di seguito il testo del ministero, tutto giocato su uno stile di stretta difesa: non siamo stati noi ma quelli che ci hanno preceduto, abbiamo speso “solo” 7,8 milioni di euro per il sito mentre il resto andrà in investimenti tecnologici (per i quali non si dà alcun dettaglio ulteriore se non parole generiche come “produzione e aggiornamento dei contenuti” o “attivazione dei collegamenti con i portali regionali”. Il totale fa 21 milioni di euro). E la notizia, quella forse più interessante, sta alla fine: l’annuncio dell’istituzione di una commissione d’indagine che chiarisca “criticità e possibili omissioni” del progetto. (more…)

Caro Sandro, ci siamo conosciuti (ricordi?) una sera a Francavilla insieme alla signora Russo, la mamma di Antonio ucciso perché aveva avuto il coraggio di denunciare gli orrori in Cecenia. Ho scoperto che tu sei molto diverso da Enzo ma che da allora, da quando Enzo riposa in Mesopotamia, sei entrato un po’ nella nostra famiglia: sì, di quei pazzi che ancora hanno la voglia di raccontare e di capire. Ti scrivo da Kabul. Ho pensato molto in questi giorni a Enzo, avevo un’angoscia grande dentro, perché il dramma di Daniele mi ricordava tanto quel saluto frettoloso a Kufa. Pure con Daniele ci eravamo salutati con l’idea di rivederci un paio di giorni dopo e invece ci siamo ritrovati in un incubo. Ma lui poi è tornato a casa. Enzo no: ancora non è tornato, neppure da morto. E io ancora non me lo perdono. Ho dato tutto me stesso in questi anni per sapere cosa è successo, forse l’ho capito, rivedo quasi ogni notte quel crocevia maledetto di Malmudyia dove all’andata ce la siamo cavata con un po’ di paura e invece il ritorno è stato fatale. Ho negli occhi sempre Enzo con la macchinetta fotografica che scattava a ripetizione in quel viottolo di Najaf (quante foto mi ha fatto: mai viste) e poi lui che ci porta in salvo con la bandiera. La gioia di stare con i miliziani perché voleva sapere tutto e il sogno di incontrare al Sadr. I cronisti sono sempre fregati dai sogni. Perché ci si è dimenticati improvvisamente di lui? Capisco che adesso non ci sono più italiani in Iraq ma la cosiddetta “intelligence” è ancora operativa. Capisco che sono cambiati i vertici della Croce Rossa, ma sarebbe pure logico pensare a un passaggio di consegne. Giusi e i figli di Enzo meritano almeno il conforto di una tomba su cui piangere. Cosa possiamo fare noi? Forse quello che stiamo facendo: non dimenticarlo, insistere, pressare su chi può fare un ulteriore tentativo. C’era stato, lo ricordiamo tutti, un riconoscimento di parti di ossa. Quindi, la zona dov’era stato sepolto dopo la barbarie, qualcuno la conosceva. Perché si è interrotto tutto?
