Rilasciandolo con licenza Creative Commons, lo scrittore di thriller Jon Evans ha iniziato a metà luglio la pubblicazione di un romanzo a puntate, Beasts of New York (qui il primo capitolo e qui l’indice di ciò che è già online). La storia ha per protagonista uno scoiattolo e, per la natura fantasy dell’opera, viene definita un children’s book for adults sul quale Evans scrive:

I originally wanted to release my first published novel (Dark Places aka Trail of the Dead) online, but my publishers balked at that. Then it occurred to me I could release Beasts of New York instead. And while it’s an odd little book, I’m very, very fond of it, so I want to give it a chance to find an audience.
