Da un blog ne sono venuti fuori i primi capitoli di un libro. Il blog è 1984comics.com e il volume in corso di lavorazione è rigorosamente a fumetti. Nato come progetto per appassionati alla narrativa orwelliana e fortemente convinto che il grande fratello sia tra noi in diversi modi, inizia così ad andare oltre i post più o meno quotidiani e lancia il primo e il secondo capitolo della trasposizione in immagini di 1984. Entrambi sono interamente consultabili online e di ognuno è stata fatta una presentazione su YouTube (1 e 2). In merito al progetto, si legge:

The initial idea came in late 2003. My contract with my editor had just been terminated and I was looking for a new project. I was being continuously harrased by friends and loved ones to read 1984. And once I did, I instantly knew that this book needed to be read by a wider audience and that it would make a good comic. Soon after all the legal research for the rights were out of the way, work on the design, the characters and the Big Brother posters began. While setting up the website I was approached by the 2600 crew for the visual of their bi-annual hacker conference, entitled The Fifth Hope. This event turned out to be the official announcement to the world that this project was under way.
